歌手简介 　　2007年，一位名叫亚当·杨（Adam Young）的美国大学二年级学生在明尼苏达州 创建了猫头鹰之城乐队，亚当·杨是该乐队的唯一成员，乐队的创作、编曲、作词、混音合成、主唱全由Adam担任。乐队成立不久，便发行了首张EP《Of June》。 2008年乐队发行了首张专辑《Maybe I’m Dreaming》。2009年，乐队先后发行了单曲《Hot Air Balloon》、《Strawberry A valanche》，2009年7月14日乐队发行了全新专辑《Ocean Eyes》，其中专辑的主打歌曲《Fireflies》更是一举跃上美国Billboard榜单的冠军宝座和itunes下载排名的冠军位置。猫头鹰之城在发行乐队的第一张专辑以及主要单曲时都是未和唱片公司签约的，直到2009年的早些时候，亚当·杨才同著名的音乐厂牌“Crazed Hits”签约，准备乐队的专辑《Ocean Eyes》 。 在《Ocean Eyes》之后不断创作出一首首单曲，直到2011年，主唱Adam Young宣布了新专辑《All Things Bright And Beatuiful》的创作的消息。万众期待的《All Things Bright And Beatuiful》终于于2011年6月14日全球发布。2012年4月Adam在OwlCity官网上还有个人推特中透露8月将会推出新专辑《The Midsummer Station》。作为新专辑的预热，2012年5月15日推出了EP《Shooting Star》。

歌曲背景 　　Owl City第二张EP新作“Shooting Star”，发布于2012年5月15日。这张EP有四首歌曲：”Shooting Star”"Gold”"Dementia”"Take It All Away”， 而这四首歌曲也将收录在 Adam Young的即将面世的专辑《The Midsummer Station》中。 　　“我觉得作为一个艺术家，你应该绝不回头，拒绝重复。”Adam Young在 Billboard的Gary Graff的采访中如是说。Young目前正在策划进行着将由2012年夏天的新专辑发布，“Shooting Star”只是新专辑发布的预热。Young的这张新EP中的四首歌，是为了确保向公众预测新专辑的风格。尽管Young为了保持新EP的风格，但EP中仍然透露出Young想要创造好声音的努力，“Shooting Star”融入了浓厚的European trance元素，”Dementia”则着重注入摇滚风。[1]
